3 Hour Pottery Plaque Workshop

Pottery Hanging Plaque Workshop – 3hrs - £65 per person

Minimum 2 Students – Run during the day Friday – Monday or Evenings from 6pm – 9pm Monday to Friday.

If working with clay has ever intrigued you, then come and join us on this wonderful workshop where you can create your own hanging plaque. All our clay is stoneware which means its frost proof and is suitable for outdoors too. Perhaps you fancy making a lovely house sign, so you stand out from the rest, or something to hang in the garden. The opportunities are endless with this fun medium.

During your 3hr Workshop we will explain the basics, show you how to handle the clay, how to roll it out properly and explore the vast collection of products we have for achieving unique designs.

We will discuss all the options available when it comes to adding colour to your work and have a large selection of glazes and samples to give you plenty of ideas, so you can plan how you would like your piece to look like.

If your piece of work requires two firings (Bisque and glaze) then an additional fee of £20 is charged to cover the cost of the additional firing and time allocated to come and glaze your work which can take up to approximately 1 1/2hrs

Clay needs to dry slowly to avoid it from cracking so it can take up to a week before it’s ready to have the first firing. One that is complete, if it needs to have an additional firing then glaze can be applied immediately and then fired again when the kiln is full.

Refreshments are provided throughout the workshop.
